Iranian EPIL Company Becomes Member of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)

TEHRAN (ANA)- Knowledge-Based Energy Industries Laboratory (EPIL) is the first Iranian laboratory company that has been accepted into the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

EPIL is a leading testing, inspection, and certification company with over 20 unique laboratory and testing facilities, according to its website.

The memberships of the EPIL in the IEC was achieved through the efforts and follow-ups of the Iranian National Standard Organization and in cooperation with Iranian Energy Technological Development Headquarters.

After going through the implementation process in accordance with the basic rules of the IECEx system and a 6-day evaluation by a team of experts from Australia, China and South Africa on the IEC website, and with the votes of 33 countries out of a total of 36 member countries on the website, the Iranian knowledge-based company was accepted as a certification institution and test laboratory by the international body.

Identifying and introducing certification institutions, test laboratories and internal inspection companies in order to create value and improve the country's position on the international stage, gaining international prestige to related institutions in the country, reducing costs and timing of issuing certificates, providing support for domestic products and goods, facilitating exports and increasing foreign investment, preventing exit of financial resources and increasing international trust in domestically produced products are some of the matter important for the EPIL in joining the IEC.
